All About CarePacks

CarePacks

Toothpaste and Toothbrushes

Pastor Higgins and Sister Anita of MISSIONS OF LOVE - HAITI have been going to Haiti for over 15 years. They have been taking carepacks for many of those years. Their ministry is to prayerfully and financially support 6 pastors - (churches orphanages and schools) in Haiti. They also support the children that they have watched grow up over the years with educational expenses.

Each trip, they
take supplies and care packs to each of the areas where the pastors and churches are and the care packs are given to the people of the churches/orphananges and schools. Some of the same people get a new care pack every 6 months or so. This is a wonderful way to help Haiti in a small way... Women's church groups, church Mission groups and also Girl Scouts have been known to make carepacks for
Missions of Love!!!
Here's a few notes about making carepacks: They don't have to all be the same - we usually use what we have been given or find on sale...the people of Haiti are so thankful for the gifts. Hit up your local dentists and ask for toothpaste and toothbrushes...no matter the size of the toothpaste or if the toothbrush is for a kid...anything is appreciated.
If the soap is in a box, we take it out and place it in a sandwich bag. We take the toothbrushes out of the package and put them in a sandwich bag. We can use hotel soaps and shampoos too. We usually put 3 disposable razors in the Men's pack, a small sewing kit in the women't pack and small cars or tiny toys in the children's packs. The washcloth, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap and or shampoo/bodywash (whatever we have been given)and a comb all fit nicely in a quart size ziplock bag.
