When I first went to Haiti, I never thought that it would change my life so much. God had so much in store for our family and He is revealing things to us day by day. We just returned from a trip with the girls. (Clifford isn't ready to go back, so my very wonderful inlaws kept him for a week and took him to school.)
I never dreamed that we would one day return and take Leanna and Lauren with us. We have made several new missionary friends who have connections in Haiti so we went to PAP with Missions Of Love- Haiti. This was a "scouting" trip for us to meet pastors and make plans to return to help with the medical needs of the members of their congregations and also the orphanage children.
The trip was relaxing. It became a sightseeing trip as much as it was a mission trip. The mission house where we stayed is home to several children. The children do not get to interact with "American children" since most mission trips do not include kids below the age of 16. Our girls had a blast! The kids at the mission house had a blast. It was a trip orchestrated by God for sure!!!
In the airport on the return trip a man asked Michael if we were going home or leaving home!!! He thought we were resident missionaries because we had our kids with us. At one point Leanna turned to me and said, "You were right mom, You can't explain Haiti and pictures don't do it either...you have to be there!"
