It was late on a Sunday night in the year 2009, I checked my email and found a heartwrenching message. Clifford's mom has changed her mind...she says she loves him and doesn't want to put him up for adoption. My heart fell to my knees. I was SICK!!! I was shaking so bad when I tried to tell Michael. All I could do was point him to the computer!!! I went to bed praying and crying out to God. My pillow was drenched! The next morning I sought God through His word. I literally FLIPPED my Bible open and this is what my eyes fell upon. I had never read Malachi for devotion. I had Googled "orphan" and never come across this verse!!! God gave it to me that morning!!!
"Then I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers and against the adulterers and against those who swear falsely, and against those who oppress the wage earner in his wages, the widow and the orphan, and those who turn aside the alien and do not fear Me," says the LORD of hosts.
Malachi 3:5
Please pray today for a friend who is adopting a child from Haiti. They have encountered some challenging issues and I believe that it is only through the power of prayer that this can be resolved! God loves the orphan and I know He heard our prayers when we had adoption issues.
