Our miracle(s)

OUR MIRACLES THAT WE HAVE SEEN THROUGH THE ADOPTION.

1.All monies were provided – nothing was borrowed /we didn’t miss paying a bill and even had the $5,000 for the new a/c unit that went out this summer.

2. Another adoptive mom gave me the name of the guy at the Chicago Haitian Consulate and he authenticated everything and mailed it back. He approved everything and then asked for the money. I was mortified that I would have to go travel to the consulate in DC. I had no idea what additional money or documents that they would ask for.

3. Before the adoption, my grandmother shared 2 articles about Haitian Adoption with me. She had read the articles, knew about our interest in Haiti and felt God laying it on her heart to share these stories with me. When I arrived in Haiti a week later and was asked to adopt Clifford, I had the greatest peace.

4. We found out “just in time” that the price was about to go up $1,000 and were able to get the paperwork sent to Haiti in time.

5. Clifford’s mom and I share the same birthday.

6. Our approval from the US gov’t was issued just before Christmas, we were expecting for it to be approved after Valentine’s Day of the next year. The department had just been reduced by 6 people and it was said that it would be a long wait for approvals.

7. Our fingerprints were due to expire and we needed to renew them. The USCIS office was able to get us an appointment on a Saturday in Charlotte, instead of one in Charleston in the middle of the week. Michael didn’t miss any work.

8. Two friends contacted us and felt that God was prompting them to encourage us. It was perfect timing. Their words were comforting and a reminder that God is in control.

Sometimes God allows us to become pressured - not to terrify us or cause us undue pain but to purify our character. It's interesting that God uses pressure in our lives this way. In the same manner, pressure is what makes a diamond pretty, precious, and priceless. Diamonds are treasured stones that many desire. God wants you and me to become His treasured stones that shine with His glory. He uses the pressures in our lives to create in us a thing of rare beauty that many desire. When we allow the stress of life to purify our nature, we permit God to work for good and His glory. Unknown
