Don't stealthily move back the boundary lines or cheat orphans out of their property
In May, I sat down and compiled the devotional notes that I’ve been collecting on my computer. As we have walked through this adoption process I’ve been starving for God’s word. This morning I was reading a book by Lysa TerKuerst. She and her family adopted two boys from Liberia. Her story is similar to ours.As I was reading her book, I looked up the verses that she referred to and was moved to tears.
Don't stealthily move back the boundary lines or cheat orphans out of their property,
For they have a powerful Advocate who will go to bat for them. Proverbs 23: 10-11
I read the verse to Michael. In all my Bible reading years I never came across verses on orphans – until our adoption.
As I was reading Lysa's story about God leading her to be a writer, my heart felt prompted to write our story, write letters to my children and how to be a Christian in this world.I feel a desire to write what I wish I would have had in my own hands to read during those hard growing up years.I’ve always felt that writing was something that God wanted me to do...I guess we will see...
I picked up my new devotional Bible and read what I thought was today’s devotional…
It turned out that it was the devotion from two days ago, but obviously God wanted me to hear it again and AGAIN!!!
